At the recent MSPO (International Defence Industry Exhibition), Shark Robotics showcased the Barakuda—a modular, high-capacity robotic mule. Capable of carrying heavy loads up to 500 kg, Barakuda is equipped with customizable features for versatile mission applications. In an interview with Defence24, Baptiste Uhalde, Export Sales Manager at Shark Robotics, highlighted the Barakuda’s adaptability, especially with its lifting arm, which can safely handle up to 70 kg. This makes it ideal for removing dangerous materials, such as acetylene gas cylinders, commonly found in hazardous fire situations.

Originally designed with the French Army, the Barakuda has become a reliable asset in military and security operations, transporting essential supplies and equipment through rough terrain. Controlled via tablet, this robot also boasts advanced autonomy features under development, including the ability to navigate independently to GPS coordinates and return to its starting point. Its applications span across fields and are part of Shark Robotics’ broader line of Application Security Robots designed for ultimate versatility and protection in high-risk environments.

Colossus: firefighting tested and proven

The Colossus robot, developed in close collaboration with the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP), is a pioneering firefighting platform. Recently adopted by Polish firefighting teams, Colossus enables responders to get closer to hazardous situations while maintaining a safe distance from collapsing ceilings or structural dangers.
